Supplying the dentists of Trinidad & Tobago for over a century
Dr. Harold McLean, the first oral surgeon in Trinidad and Tobago, founded Trinidad Dental Supply Company in 1920 to give local dentists reliable access to world-class equipment and everyday clinical supplies. That is still the job.
Today we serve dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, dental laboratories, hospitals and dental schools, and we have worked with all of Trinidad and Tobago's Regional Health Authorities.
We also train the next generation. We run training for dental students, teach technical students about dental equipment, and support dental programmes at the University of the West Indies (UWI).

Our founder, Dr. Harold McLean
Before Dr. McLean's public health work, Trinidad and Tobago had very few formally trained dental professionals. Many people in rural communities relied on unqualified practitioners, or on medical doctors who performed only emergency extractions as part of their general training.
Working within the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. McLean helped set registration standards for properly trained practitioners, establishing dentistry as a distinct, regulated medical profession. In 1945, when the colonial government formed the public dental service, he was appointed the nation's first Senior Dental Surgeon and built public dental care from scratch.
